The Growing Numbers

by Pierced Lip Daddy

October 26, 2002

I have noticed in the short time I've been using chat clients (i.e. Yahoo, MSN, AIM, ICQ) the growing number of users. I myself have no problem with meeting new people no matter how strange they might seem. No, my problem is with when the new users who find out about script kiddies and protocol bombs (protos no longer work btw with Yahoo 5.5). These users get these   programs and think they're so neat but in actually they're not.

These programs are written by people they don't know or will ever meet. More often then not they (the boot codes) contain a virus which will obviously be detrimental to their computer or they contain a trojan which crackers use to get your passwords, account information, credit card numbers or whatever information they desire. Not to mention that booting someone out of chat is lame in itself and the  cowards way out. Then when you combine the fact that you have an excessive amount of assholes

with all the new users launching script kiddies your talking about a not so fun time. The worst is the experienced users who still find the need to boot and harass other users for their own sick enjoyment. I have often wondered if anyone is aware of the ignore button anymore, yes it's still there and easy to use. I often use the ignore button to silence poo people (poo people=lamers with a bad home life) from interrupting my chat with persons of actual interest. These individuals sole purpose in life is to wreck any constructive or good time going on in chat. If they can't find their usual subjects of ridicule they'll most certainly find someone to torment. I find that these people mostly suffer from the B.H.L syndrome (boring home life) or they just plain hate their own miserable existence. Well that's fine with me if they hate their life just leave it at home and get help they shouldn't bring their hatred to chat it only makes it worse for themselves. By this I mean that anyone who could offer support will probably not because they have burned their proverbial bridge.

Making enemies is something that no one should strive at in their life its something you try not to do. In the end we all only have each other and booting, harassing and generally being a dick only spreads us apart. So lets lose the boot codes and utilize the ignore button more  to get ride of unwanted noise.

Thanx, PLD
